No - bookings are exclusive to yourself, therefore you will have sole use of the field for the duration of your appointment.
Yes - there is a 15 minute gap between appointments. This gives us time to check the field and is also an opportunity to let our own dogs out for a toilet break. Some of our dogs are people and dog reactive, this is why we ask that you leave on time and do not arrive more than 5 minutes early, we would appreciate it if you could respect this.
We accept bookings up to 8 weeks in advance.
Appointments are for either one hour, 45 or 30 minutes and this includes the time it takes you to load your dog(s) back into the car. You need to be ready to leave the car park at the end of your allotted time. There is a 15 minute gap between bookings, this to ensure that clients can enter/exit the field safely without having any other clients around. Your dog may be well socialised and friendly but others may not be (please be mindful of this). Our aim is to ensure that you and your dogs have a stress free visit to the field. The 15 minute gap also allows me to periodically check the field for any issues. If you require a booking longer than one hour, then please contact me.
Inductions are a meet and greet so we get to know our clients, and them us. We will explain how everything works and get you familiar with the surroundings. The induction forms part of your first booking and lasts for approximately 10 minutes of your session. This time also allows us the opportunity to check your dogs vaccinations are up to date, we do accept up to date Titre Test results, we also explain the T&Cs of use.
You can if you are complying with the current restrictions as defined by the Government and can provide proof. My insurers require the following:
1) The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim. 2) A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is obtained and provided to us in the event of a claim. 3) The dog handler ratio is 1:1 with their handler at all times. 4) The dog is Neutered – in line with Government Rules. 5) The dog is Micro Chipped. 6) The field is private property with no public access passing through. Wagtails Secure Dog Field is private property. 7) The field is securely fenced and locked so the dog cannot escape, you are responsible for checking that the fence is secure enough for your dog. 8) The dog is kept on a lead and muzzled until the gate is shut when entering the field. 9) The dog is put back on a lead and muzzled before opening the gate to leave the field. 10) You can remove the lead and muzzle once inside the secured field 11) If the household has more than 1 dog, they can come to the field together, but the banned breed dog must have its own handler and then another member of the same household needs to be present to supervise the other dogs. If there is more than 1 banned breed in the household they can come together but each dog must have its own handler.Yes. Unfortunately the council have put a restriction of a maximum of 2 adults (unlimited under 16's) that are able to attend each appointment.
Yes, but only if the dogs are known to each other. We do not encourage sessions with other dogs that are strangers to each other. They must complete an induction for their own dog prior to their play date with yours. There can be no more than two cars and ten dogs in the field.
Yes, that's no problem but please be aware the induction fee is charged per household (i.e. 1 person = £12, 2 people = £24 and so on).
Yes. It is our utmost priority that we look after the health and wellbeing of your dog(s). By ensuring all visitors are vaccinated it lowers the risk of transferable disease spreading.
Our opening times can be found on our Home page under the Services section. Please be aware that these times change during the winter months due to sunset times.
If your dog doesn't enjoy being out in the rain/snow then we would suggest that you check the weather forecast the day before your visit. This way you will avoid being charged for your booking if you re-schedule with more than 24 hours before your appointment time. Alternatively if your dog is hardy to the weather and doesn't mind the rain, then you're still welcome to visit, you might want to bring a towel to dry your dog off before the car journey home. The only occasion where it may not be possible is when the field may be flooded due to heavy rainfall. In these instances we will offer to re-schedule your visit or refund you. We will always contact clients prior to their visit if we have to cancel their appointment. It's always wise to check your emails before you leave home if we’ve had bad weather.
If you have any issues please call on 07789 866960, you must not come to the house unless it is an absolute emergency. The house is private and I have reactive dogs, knocking on the door will cause them anxiety and distress.
You must use the Poo Bags supplied, we compost the dog waste and these special bags are compulsory for it to work. There is a dog poo bin located in the field for your use. Anyone found not picking up after their dog will be banned from future use.
Water is provided and can be found in the water butt under the shelter. This is checked and filled regularly. We have bowls on site for your use.
It is approximately 250ft by 120ft. Please refer to the photograph on our home page to give you a clearer idea of size. If we experience excessive rainfall there is an alternative field that is open instead. It is slightly smaller but copes better with the bad weather.
The field is on flat terrain and not on a slope, however the field has a very uneven surface due to the frequent visits of a tribe of moles! Care must be taken and you use the field at your own risk.
You will find directions on our Home page where you will find an interactive map, our full address, including the postcode for use with a Sat Nav.
Yes, we have a large secure car parking area, once you have locked the gate, you can safely let your dog out of the car.

Yes, although we'd suggest leaving them at home for your induction (unless you have another adult with you). It's difficult to concentrate whilst looking after your children and your dog/s and retain the information from your induction. We want you to get the best out of your induction so you can enjoy future visits. Your children must be supervised at all times and ensure that they do not cause any damage to the site.
No. You will need to allow a minimum of 48 hours after the point where your dogs stools are solid again before we re-schedule your appointment. You can re-schedule your appointment with 24 hours notice, if it is less than this then please contact me and I can re-schedule on your behalf. If your dog has a bout of diarrhoea at the field, please ensure that this is washed down with the watering can provided, this can be found close to the Aquaroll in the field.

We provide a camping style toilet in the shed for your convenience, please ensure that this is kept as clean as possible for other clients. There are instructions in the shed to show you to use it. Please leave it in an empty state.
Yes, there is a first aid kit for both humans and dogs. These can be found in the shed. Please let me know if you have used anything from either kit, this will enable me to replace it for future use.

Yes, there are sheep and cows regularly grazing in neighbouring fields, there is also a range of wildlife (rabbits, pheasants etc) around the field. If your dog has a strong prey drive and can jump higher than 2 metres then the field may not be secure for you. You are responsible for any damage your dog may cause if it escapes.
